TORCHLIGHT

a community-based multimedia arts and production studio in Belfast, Maine

MISSION

Torchlight provides access to production tools and skills, builds long-term sustainability for local public media outlets, creates education and mentorship opportunities, and improves community connection through storytelling and events.

Youth Mentorship & Skillbuilding

Through a partnership with the Belfast Area High School’s (BAHS) Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) program, Torchlight is hosting and incubating a new youth multimedia mentorship pilot program. Collaboration with area schools and workforce development programs is a primary area of focus.

Multimedia Storytelling

The Torchlight team has decades of experience producing engaging stories and connecting with audiences. We have created photo, video, and audio for select businesses and nonprofits, locally and across the globe. Torchlight also provides content, support, and coordination for local community media outlets.

Community Resources

By offering educational workshops and access to media gear, we hope to break down barriers to entry for the community-at-large. Events and ongoing programs build and support community networks. The newly-established A/V Club connects area media makers for critiques, talking shop, and resource sharing.
